How To Make Multicolor Oil Pastel
I always have lots of little left over chunks and odd pieces of pastel that i can’t throw away and keep carrying along, sometimes using not even knowing which color its interior due to smudgy nature of their facades.
The sad part is that those were my favorite colors, that’s why they die first. I am also madly in love with multicolor drawing supplies, usually preschool grade quality. I use magic pencil and Alex star a lot and i love them!
After visiting Kremer Pigments store and considering a kind of budget i should put myself on in order to afford all their chemical magic, i didn’t find any so far. BUT, i thought what can be substituted for what and decided to risk my little leftovers:
I put them into salad bowl and microwaved for 5 minutes in 30 seconds intervals since i didn’t know what exactly to expect. And now I’m really happy with results:
There is one little trick involved: use temperature difference for taking pastels out of the mold -- just place it for some time in a freezer till it comes out easily.
